Sunday races & socials
MFA runs races every Sunday, weather permitting, from the beginning of November until the beginning of April. Sunday races are followed by a club social that includes food, race debriefing, tactics and rules discussion.
Saturday racing
The warmer weather of November, March, and April allows racing on Saturdays as well. Together with Sunday racing, this provides over 40 scheduled days of racing through the winter!
Regattas
MFA runs several regattas throughout the season. The New Years Regatta, Founders Regatta, and Handicap Regatta are opportunities to race consecutive days and put your skills on the water to the test!
Coaching
MFA is open to racers of all skill level. To help grow the skills of all members, several coaching clinics are run throughout the season. These clinics focus on racing tactics for starts and roundings, sail trim tips and boat handling, and racing rules.
Current season
We're excited to have scheduled over 35 days of racing! These days include 9 set aside for three regattas, 5 coaching days to help improve racing skills, 6 days for new members to try out, and 3 extra days to makeup for inclement weather.
We race out of Beach Point Yacht Club.
We leave the dock at 12:30 and return to the dock around 3pm.
Plan to arrive an hour early to gear up and rig your boat, and budget an additional hour to de-rig and put away your boat.
We sail when the weather at Beach Point is warmer than 28°F and the wind is below 20kts.
